1927

Company founded as "FAKO"
The story was started back in 1927 by four German businessmen, founders of the socks and knitwear factory 'Fako', and very soon the first machines began to work in the plant.
1939

Nylon hosiery debuts in New York
Nylon socks appeared in the world, which were first presented at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York.
1950

Renamed to "8. MART" after WWII
In 1950, the facility and infrastructure of the old factory 'Fako' were handed over to the workers for management, and then the factory got its current name – 'March 8th'.
1952

First locally made pantyhose
The first domestic pantyhose in the '8th March' factory were produced in 1952, just a few years after the war. They were of excellent quality and extremely popular.
1999

Strategic partnership and EU focus
The solution is found in connecting with a strategic foreign partner. At that time, the production capacity of the factory in Subotica was about 7 million socks per year. The partnership has resulted in major investments in technology to the latest manufacturing standards. From the beginning of 1999 until today, the production capacity has been increasing.
2011

Joined "Daun & Cie." group
Today, the factory proudly points out that it belongs to the German group 'Daun & Cie' AG and 'Atlas Textil Verwaltunghs'.
2018

Became part of "ELMIC"
Stayed in the Daun & Cie AG, now owned by Malte Daun.
2024

Member of "United Brands Group"
In September 2024, 8.Mart joined forces with ONSKINERY, Wilox, and Esda to form the United Brands Group, creating a leading European legwear specialist with over 600 experts and a GMV exceeding €300 million.
